Buckram brimmed velvet hat for Henry On Tour, Historic Royal Palaces; two hats decorated and trimmed; tricorn hat made for Dress to Impress, Polesden Lacey.
The Tudor cap made for Historic Royal Palaces has a buckram and net structure, and is lined.
The tricorn was made from a capeline, steamed, stretched and shaped. Both hats are trimmed with feathers - curved ostrich feathers for the cap, and a feather boa for the tricorn.
This is a simple ruff made from cotton, stiffened with crin (for theatrical use). It was around ten metres long before being pleated.
